An Introduction To Emotional Freedom Technique Or Tapping
This is my secret weapon to relieve stress and anxiety
I remember well when I first encountered Emotional Freedom Technique, also known as EFT or Tapping. At the time, I was very stressed and had a lot of anxiety that caused me serious problems. One day, I saw an ad in the local alternative paper with the words, “Emotional Freedom Technique.”
How I first learned about it
I thought, “Wow! Emotional Freedom? There is such a thing? I have to find out what this is!” But at the time, I didn’t have the money to book a session, or so I thought. Still, as luck would have it, I went to an alternative health fair very shortly thereafter, and someone did a workshop on EFT — for free. She taught us the complete technique, and with my notes, I set about practicing it.
My first test run
First, I did a test run. I wanted to see if EFT could really relieve me of strong fears or phobias. And I chose my fear of dogs as my test subject. In fact, I had been scared of dogs all my life. Here’s how bad it was:
